We know what you’re thinking, of course they’re going to say that it’s worth it – they provide SEO Services! That’s true, and we wouldn’t expect you to think otherwise.
This why we’re going to provide sources and research for all of our claims in this section and then let you decide whether SEO is worth it for you or your business.
This is one of the most common questions for anyone investing in SEO – and so it should be. In truth, you should be asking this question about any marketing venture. For Example:
- Is PPC worth it?
- Is Social Media worth it?
- Is that local networking event worth it?
Unfortunately, SEO does have a bad reputation when compared to other marketing channels. This reputation has come by from shady SEO practices, rumours about whether SEO is dead or not (which it isn’t) and time frames on return on investment.

That’s a lot of searches every day, in fact that adds up to over 3.5 billion searches per day and over 1.2 trillion searches per year, And it’s not going to slow down anytime soon.
A good percentage of these searches are shoppers, looking for your products or services – and if they aren’t finding you. They’re finding your competitors, and you don’t want that!
It should also be noted that any customer that is using search engines to find their products and services may not look into their local newspaper, directories or even social media – 66% of

This study is followed by 80% of search engine users saying that they rarely or never click on sponsored results. It should be noted that the research conducted was taken place in 2012, and since Google have changed the way they display their ads
As you can see from this image, the sponsored listings are distinct from the organic search results, showing a faint yellow background.
These ads now blend more with the organic search results, and as a result may result in a higher click through rate for the searches. Despite these changes, and how they may have impacted the click through rate of pay per click.
